Token Board

A helper for children who rush schoolwork like tracing, writing or cutting. It follows common occupational-therapy practice: show what careful looks like, set a calm pace, have the child check their own work, then praise the careful effort. Your child taps the 🐢 Slow & Steady button on a board. A turtle walks to a flag over the time you choose (it's a gentle cue, not a lock). When they're finished, they tap through a short picture checklist such as "I stayed on the dotted line", and each item is read aloud. Then they show you: tap Give a Token (behind the adult lock) or Let's Fix It to try again with no penalty.

Open a board, tap the ⋯ menu, choose Edit Board and go to Slow & Steady. Switch it on, pick a turtle timer (2 to 20 minutes, or off) and edit the check-my-work list. You can add up to 6 steps, swipe to delete one, and touch and hold a step to drag it into a new order. Keep it to 2 to 4 short steps your child can check by looking at their page.

Tap + on the board list and pick Tracing, Writing or Cutting under Slow & Steady. The board opens ready to go, with its own timer, checklist and a matching token (a pencil for tracing, a pen for writing, scissors for cutting). Change anything you like, then tap Save.

When the lock is on, adding or removing tokens, claiming a reward and editing boards ask for Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode. Kids can still look at their boards. One unlock lasts a few minutes (you choose 1 to 30 in Settings), and the app locks again when you leave it.

Tap the gear icon on the board list, then switch off Adult Lock. You'll be asked to unlock once to confirm. If your device has no passcode set, the lock can't check anything and lets changes through.

Open a board, tap the ⋯ menu, choose Edit Board, then use Choose Photo or Take Photo in the Reward section. The photo replaces the emoji everywhere in the app.

Open a board, tap the ⋯ menu and choose Print Board. You get the board with numbered circles and, if you like, a page of matching tokens to cut out. Laminating both pages and adding Velcro dots lets you reuse the tokens.

Tap the gear icon on the board list. Under Sounds, switch off Play Sounds, Say the Celebration Out Loud, or both. Sounds also follow your device volume and the silent switch.

Boards are saved on the device. They move to a new device when you restore it from an iCloud or computer backup. Syncing between devices is not available yet.
